“Do You Do What You Say You Believe?”

It’s the end of day one of the 2nd annual Integra Staff Training. Taking place in the beautiful city of Bern, the capital of Switzerland, the participants and staff are going to bed exhausted tonight!

The day began with Dr. Dave Sveen leading the team in a devotional time focused on character. His challenge of “do we do what we say we believe” set the right spiritual tone for the rest of the day. Dr. Sveen spoke out of Matthew 23, where Jesus commands his disciples to obey the Pharisees teachings but not to follow the Pharisees actions. As the team sat and listened the room was filled with hmm’s and uh huh’s. Dr. Sveen shared an incredible reminder of the call to be doers of the word, and the weight character holds. The Lord blessed this time together as we were all challenged and encouraged to walk with Jesus and learn from him. It is through this time, which we spend with Him that our character will begin to resemble Christ.

After this very fruitful time in the Word, the dynamic duo of Ray and Deloris Thomas threw the team into an incredible whirlwind of theoretical and practical application. During this time the team split in half to create from scratch a business plan for a store inside a developing mall. Through various exercises each team mimicked the life of an entrepreneur and began to answer the tough questions they face in their own offices, such as, “How do no stifle the confidence of a risk taker, but channel the confidence and passion of that person into a viable business option?”

The teams worked hard and presented their ideas and plans along the way to a panel of judges that either accepted or rejected them. In a very short time the teams experienced the life of the person usually sitting opposite of them in the office. By the end of the day the teams were racing to complete personnel manuals and pricing plans for their businesses. The teams finished exhausted and we all headed to the Della Casa restaurant for dinner.

What an incredible day! The Lord has truly put his hand upon this training seminar. Through casual conversation during a meal or participating in team exercises, we are already beginning to see the fruit this training seminar will bring. Please continue to pray for all the participants and presenters this week. Pray for a great comprehension of the material, pray for a time of renewal for the participants before the start of another year, pray for meaningful rich conversations, pray for safety, and pray for endurance for the week. Please also pray for one of our participants whose visa has the wrong ending date, even though the papers were correct. Pray that we are able to sort the matter out so she may stay through the end of the seminar. We appreciate and are grateful for everyone lifting this group up in prayer this week. Please continue to do so and remember to keep checking back for more updates throughout the week!
